Tiger Badminton Training Center (TBTC) New York was founded in 2019. TBTC strives to create a great environment to learn, train, and play the sport of badminton. Badminton is a fun and exciting sport that boosts one's physical, mental, and social well being. TBTC encourages people of all ages to try the sport of badminton.
TBTC is located right on Queens Boulevard in the Rego Park neighborhood of New York City. TBTC facilities included 4 courts on wood floor with new badminton floor mats, LED lights, high ceilings, heating, table tennis, dart boards, fitness center, Yonex Pro-shop, locker rooms with restrooms and showers, rest area with hot and cold drinks and snacks, and free Wi-Fi. TBTC is easily accessible by car and public transit. Come visit us today and participate in the sport of badminton.
Mr. Hu Tan is the head coach of the Tiger Badminton Training Center. He played professionally for the Sichuan province team in China.
During Mr. Tan's professional career, he participated in many national and international competitions. He won second place in the National College Student’s Championship of China, two times champion of the Provincial Games, and third place in mixed doubles in the European Open Competition.
From 1991 to 1993, Mr. Tan was the head coach of the Hungarian National Team and Olympic Team. Under his leadership, the Hungarian Badminton team qualified for their first ever Olympic games in the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona and ranked 32nd in the world for the Women’s Single. And in 1992, two of his students won the European Junior championship in men’s doubles.
Mr. Tan was formally recognized as an outstanding coach by the Hungary Olympic Committee for his contributions.
Mr. Tan was also the head coach of the Debrecen City Badminton Club for eight years, where he won the national team championship six times during his tenure. He also coached the Budapest badminton club, Honved Zrinyi, for two years.
